Anybody else have this issue? I haven't found anything in the manuals or online which addresses this.

MIDIYODI CONVERT TYPE 1 TO TYPE 0 MANUAL

I saw a tip in the manual and now run through the "2nd Guitar" input on the back, with somewhat better results. Single coil or humbucker, amp and guitar volume both set at 1 and it's blasting. PS - every guitar I've plugged into the main guitar input seems to overpower the amp. (No offense to the metal-lovers out there - each to his own.) I'll use the advice and guidance y'all offered to try and download some tracks a little more in my wheelhouse. Just got it today and starting to work my way through some of the backing tracks, but there appear to be an awful lot of rapid-fire tracks in there - what an old guy like me would consider "metal." I enjoy just about all styles of music, but metal not so much. I ended up tracking down another G-DEC 3 Thirty - not as clean but with all of the stock backing tracks and presets still in place. I'm looking through my old documentation and I found a document "GDEC Midi Guide" by Fender that may be helpful. IIRC If you used a Win7 or later PC, it simplified the process because it recognised all the hardware automatically and I think you could access the GDEC internal folder and actually transfer files either way.

When that all originally came out, the world was still dealing with WinXP and special drivers, therefore special software was also needed. Having said that, the older GDEC-30 needed a midi interface like the M-Audio Uno - USB to MIDI converter (that was what I had used with mine). Then using file explorer, simply copy or move files to the internal storage just as if you were copying or moving files to a flashdrive!

I know yours is not the GDEC3-30, but it's real easy on the GDEC3-30 because its as simple and using the USB interface cable between your PC usb port and the GDEC3-30 mini port on the front panel. Any way I have Two G Decs and a champion amp I use now for my wet dry wet I am some what disappointed that fender no longer uses fuse as there soft ware in there new tone amps because it does not have as many amp choices as the fuse had. Dont drop the amp either that can cause problems also. And I noticed that the backing tracks on the 3 series are wave files and with the earlier series are midi files for backing tracks which I could take different instruments out of the backing tracks dont want the guitar in a backing track take it out stuff like that. They can have problems if you spill something on the controls it can corrupt the memory, short out the screen.

Well I waited untill the 3 series came out and bought a 3 thirty uploaded all of the fuse variants and it will do things I dont think you can get with any other amp. Then later when they started making the next series of G Dec I was even more impressed with what they could do this is about the time line 6 spiders came out and of course I tried one out and it did not compare in sound. I bought one after trying them out twice in a local music shop in Bozeman MT. When I first saw the G Dec original I was blown away by what it could do this was before line 6 had any out. Think I'll spend some time with this, do a little hunting and possibly come across some of the other backing tracks. Check ebay for the pedal that went with it, nothing really there other then a gent selling a Hal Leonard Hendrix book with the SD card for the GDec for $200! LOL! I kinda wish I had the blues and Jazz backing tracks just because. Looked on FB, there is a page, but not much traffic. The G-DEC forum on Fender's site is shut down, so there's no place to get downloads as there once was like when I first bought this thing. I bought the "County" version back then because I though the tolex was cool, and figured something other then the blues backing tracks would keep me from playing the same ole stuff over and over and over. Plugged it in and spent a good couple hours noodling with it this morning. I was going through road cases and stumbled upon it in a road case, still in it's shipping box. Between now and then I put maybe 30 mins of playing time through it and honesty I completely forgot about it. I bought the G-DEC3 Thirty many years ago.
